Following the heroic work of National Highways, this observational documentary series goes behind the scenes and out on the road with a hidden workforce of men and women, under daily pressure to keep Britain’s motorways moving.  From the high-tech control centres watching over our motorways, the series reveals what happens in Motorway accidents and medical emergencies and what it takes to rescue us from trouble on some of the world’s busiest motorways.

The third series of The Motorway is being filmed in spring 2023.
